Liz is a physiotherapist with 14 years’ experience and specialisms in functional ability in the workplace, occupational health, ergonomics, and musculoskeletal health. By combining her knowledge of musculoskeletal health and wellbeing, she is able to translate complex clinical concepts into practical workplace solutions, particularly in assessing functional abilities.

 

With over 5,000 workplace assessments (including OH and workstation assessments) and more than 10,000 musculoskeletal clinic appointments completed, Liz brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge and experience to her training. Most recently, she completed a validated trial on the benefits of musculoskeletal occupational health assessments, with positive results showing a 47% improvement in physical activity after the assessment and advice provided.

Covering:

  • Neck, lower back, knee & shoulder assessments

  • Basic anatomy of each area

  • Special questions to quickly identify potential structural issues that may impact fitness for work - especially in manual handling roles - reducing call time and providing strong clinical justification

  • Special tests to identify further risk factors, e.g., falls or injury risk

  • How to identify potentially serious pathology (red flags) and what action to take, in line with NMC, GMC, and HCPC guidelines
